Important Tips for Maintaining Your Wooden Slats
Our slats are delivered in a beautiful natural wood-brown color. Over time, due to exposure to sunlight and weather conditions, they will naturally develop a grey patina.
This color change is perfectly normal and has no impact on the quality of the wood. In fact, the grey hue acts as a natural protective layer against the elements.
Would you prefer to preserve the original wood color longer or add a personal touch?
We recommend applying a protective Durogrit oil every few years, depending on your local climate and weather conditions.
Important: never apply varnish to the slats, as this would prevent the wood from breathing naturally.
After the winter season, you might notice some moss formation. This can easily be removed using wood soap and a soft brush.
In periods of prolonged humidity, a green deposit may appear. This is also easy to treat: simply spray an enzymatic cleaner on a dry day (with at least 24 hours without rain, and not in direct sunlight). After a few days, the green residue will completely disappear.
Please never use a steel brush or a pressure washer on the slats. These can damage the natural wood fibers and shorten the lifespan of your furniture.
We wish you many years of enjoyment with your purchase!
